Paralegal Program
Our Program
Educational Objectives
The Virginia Center for Paralegal Studies is a training institution that prepares you to work as a legal assistant, paralegal, and legal administrative assistant. The educational objectives of the Legal Certification program are to train students for entry-level positions in the legal profession and in other areas requiring generalized legal principles. This includes insurance, banking, real estate, title companies, medical institutions, and other related industries as well as state and federal agencies and courthouses.
Unique Training Center
The Virginia Center for Paralegal Studies campus is located in an active law office. This enables you to learn legal theory and see it in action. You can observe how forms and documents are completed and then practice preparing them yourself. By training in a legal environment you will be accustomed to a law office before your first day on the job.
Train With Professionals
Your instructors are working lawyers, judges, paralegals, private investigators, and legal professionals. They teach you what you need to know as if you were working for them. Paralegals help you understand the job from the paralegal's point of view. We take the practical approach so you know what to do when you get to the workplace.
Graduate Success
Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded a Paralegal Certificate from the Virginia Center for Paralegal Studies. This signifies the student's achievement in knowledge, competence, and skills. Students are prepared to sit for the NALS (National Association for Legal Professionals) and CLA (Certified Legal Assistant) nationwide exams. |

Elizaveta, now 27, has excelled in her legal studies and Internship program. She is now employed with a prestigious law firm in the Washington, D.C. area. In an interview with Elizaveta, she discusses her experience at VCPS and how it aided her:
VCPS: That [her current job] sounds like quite a bit of responsibility, how do you think VCPS aided you in being able to handle those responsibilities?
Elizaveta: The VCPS program helped me master such important qualities such as: good oral and written skills, typing, computers, ability to work in a stressful environment, attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to get along with other employees in the firm.
